Intensity 2
Once a week, you should send your buddy a text. On that text, let them know that in a few hours you are going to eat their lunch. Stoke the flame, talk some shit, and come in and blast yourself.
How often can you be locked in and hit that peak level of intensity? On any given day, where should you be on the intensity scale?
As with most, when they start their CrossFit journey, there is no line but the red line. Balls to the walls, all day, every day. And then it stops. It hurts, you realize there is no longevity, and sooner or later, all that intensity leads to injury or overtraining.
If you were to look at a normal, five days a week, training week. Maybe one day in that week you are able to actually find peak intensity. The remaining training days should hover around 80-85%.
Why 80-85%? The biggest reason is so you can enjoy your life, for your whole life. Coming into the gym and getting super doped up on some fitness is great, but remember you need to stay in shape your whole life. You can’t fix all the world’s problems in one day, and you will not overcome the 43 red bull -vodka slushies, large pizza, and gallon of ice cream you ate on Sunday by Franning your face off on Monday.

Be smart, listen to your body, and keep this fitness thing about longevity. And once a week, come in knowing you are going to light the place on fire.

Shine up those cowboy boots and let’s rage to some country music. We will be meeting for happy hour at 5:00. Where we go from there is up to you.
Monday May 30th – Memorial Day Murph
Memorial Day 2016, San Diego Athletics will be hosting, “Memorial Day Murph.” We will all meet at a designated location on the beach and complete the following:
Run 1 mile
100 Pull Ups
200 Push Ups
300 Squats
Run 1 mile
Wanna do it with a 20# vest? Sure. We will finish the workout back on the beach so you can jump in the ocean and hang out for the rest of the day.

Saturday July 2nd – Cass Clash
The Cass Clash is coming back. In teams of 2, athletes will compete in a friendly in house competition. Registration will begin May 16th. Cost is $30 per team.
