The 2015 CrossFit Open Recap
The CrossFit Open has come to a close. Over 275,000 people participated in the five week event which, once again, is 270,000 people more than the number of people that did CrossFit when I started in 2007. It blows my mind how Mr. Castro can say 3,2,1 Go and the whole world can have a collective heart attack and randomly start doing toes to bar as fast as they possibly can.
This is the first year of the super regionals. The top 20 male and female athletes as well as the top 15 teams will meet in Del Mar to battle it out for a chance to go to The CrossFit Games in Carson, Ca. Being a part of the select group that goes to the super regional is an astonishing feat. To think you are so good at fitness that you can beat out over 8,000 others in an exercise competition is crazy. I can sit here and write about the numbers but to watch the people train for hours a day, constantly beating their bodies down, eating perfectly, and still having the mental and physical fortitude to finish in the top .25% is really wild.
So without further ado, here is the list of SDA Athletes that will be moving on as well as the honorable mention athletes that finished in the top 100. Some of the athletes are in house that you see every day and some are remote clients that Bryan coaches. Next time you see these people, give them a high five – they deserve it.
