SDA Welcome Brittany Stevens
San Diego Athletics, we are pleased to announce the addition of Brittany Stevens to the SDA coaching staff. Brittany has been a staple in our community since 2013, competed for CrossFit PB at regionals in 2014, and has embraced the gym and our culture since day one. Brittany comes from a very athletic background as a D1 swimmer at Pitt where she learned and developed a love for training. During college she learned the Olympic lifts which graduated to competitng in CrossFit where she finished 23rd in the 2014 CrossFit Open. We are excited to develop coaching from a variety of backgrounds and look forward to swimming lesson soon. Brittany has been an amazing athlete and leader since she walked through the doors and we are very excited to have her on board.

Please read below for a little intro from your newest coach.
Brittany began her athletic career at an early age. She joined her neighborhood summer swim team at the age of 4 and soon began competing year round. Eventually she earned a scholarship to swim for the University of Pittsburgh's division 1 swim team. During her career at Pitt she qualified for the USA National Championships as well earned a NCAA-B time qualifying standard in the 100 yard butterfly. In addition to her time spent in the pool, she trained intensively with her team in the weight room developing skills in Olympic weightlifting, body building, and power lifting.
Brittany was introduced by her brother to CrossFit 2012 and soon began competing both in CrossFit and Olympic weightlifting. She has years of experience coaching swimmers of all ages and is looking forward to coaching outside of the pool. She is excited to share her knowledge of fitness, CrossFit, Olympic weightlifting and body building all while helping others achieve their fitness goals!
